Spring Break

During Spring Break last week, Austin (my cousin's son), came and stayed with us from Monday evening until Sunday morning. I decided to plan a little something for us to do each day that wouldn't cost a lot of money. Here's how we spent our week...

Tuesday- We went to the library and checked out some dinosaur books for Grafton, my current book club book (Hadassah: One Night with the King), and a few movies for us to watch during the week. We then grabbed Taco Bell for dinner and ate it while watching one of the movies.

Wednesday- I took the kids to the zoo using our membership and even let Grafton and Austin ride the camel with the free tickets I received when we became members last year. The weather was beautiful and we spent 4 1/2 hours there!

Thursday: We spent the day at home and once Vince came home from work he stayed with Deklan and I took Austin & Grafton to the $2 theatre to see "Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakqual". However, when we got there we found out the theatre was doing a special fundraiser with that showing and would not sell individual tickets. You had to buy a package that included your ticket, popcorn, and pop for each person. I didn't go to the $2 theatre to spend almost $30, and so we viewed "The Princess and the Frog" instead.

Friday- First thing in the morning the kids and I stopped by my parents house and picked up my sister Hannah and her friend. From there we headed to the public pool where they have a great kids area that has shallow heated water and a play-maker with slides. The amazing part is that it only cost $4.75 for all six of us to get in! After swimming I picked up a pizza from Pappa Johns and we spent the rest of the day at home. It was a busy day though, because we hosted our small group that evening and had around 30 people over.

Saturday- Austin had a school project he needed to complete, so we stayed at home and worked on that. While I was at my New Moon party that evening the boys watched a movie and played the Wii at home.

It was an enjoyable week, but we are now back in the regular swing of things!
