Annual Girl's Getaway

Every year my Mother-in-Law, Sister's-in-Law, and myself go away for a long weekend to sleep in, eat out, and shop til we drop!

We left on a Thursday afternoon and I was given several kisses, waves, and goodbyes from the three main guys in my life. The days prior to my trip I was away from home quite a bit and at the hospital with my sister, Hannah, who had her appendix and a cyst removed that Tuesday.... This made leaving my family even more difficult.

This year we went to Costa Mesa, CA and did most of our shopping at South Coast Plaza. We stayed at the Westin and there's a bridge that literally goes from the foot of our hotel to the entrance of the mall. We were in shopping heaven!

At the end of each shopping day we would go back to our hotel and have "show and tell" so that we could "ooh" and "ahh" over each other's purchases.

After our second day of shopping I was feeling a little worn out and started sitting down as much as I possibly could. I think I need to start working out!

South Coast Plaza has so many stores that there's the main mall and another smaller three-story area with a bridge that connects the two.

On our third day of shopping we went to Fashion Island and fell in love with a store called Martin + Osa. They even had huge dressing rooms with a buzzer that said "We're at your beck + call".

Fashion Island was a few miles from our hotel, so we had to take a taxi cab there and back. We were being giddy and acting silly when the cab driver came to pick us up (as you can see from the above picture), so he asked us if we had a champagne lunch (which we did not)!

Our day at Fashion Island was our last full day of the trip, so we took advantage of our girl time and went to the 10:30 PM showing of "The Backup Plan".

On Monday morning it was finally time to go home. I was sad that our girl's weekend was ending, but very anxious to get home to my family.

I can't wait for next year to do it again!
