Busy, Busy, Busy

My Dad often tells me, "You're the busiest unemployed person I know" which is very true, because I'm a stay-at-home-mom that doesn't spend nearly enough time at home!

My goal for this blog is to post on it at least two times a week, but I have fallen very far behind these last few days because of my hectic schedule and have very much missed sitting down at my computer to reflect on our day-to-day activities.

In order to "catch-up" here's a run-down of how we have spent that last couple of weeks....

  • June 4th- During the day I took the boys to the library where we checked out 10 dinosaur books (per Grafton's request) and season 4 of Jon & Kate plus 8. We grabbed Taco Bell on the way home and then watched some of our new DVD while eating lunch... That evening we attended a Graduation Open House for two guys from church.
  • June 5th- We celebrated my Brother-In-Law's 30th Birthday with an Alice in Wonderland themed Birthday party that was held at his mom's house.
  • June 6th- We went to church and then I steam cleaned the bedroom carpets and spent the evening eating mac and cheese and watching the season premiere of Kate plus 8 (that's Grafton and I's favorite show to watch together).
  • June 7th- We started our Summer Movie Program where you pay $7/person and get to see a movie (that's already on DVD) in the theatre for 10 Monday's in a row. We watched Shrek 3 and the kids did great!
  • June 9th- The kids and I met up with our friends Nicole, Kate & Everett for breakfast at the mall and then we let the kids play at Pottery Barn Kids and Barnes & Noble.
  • June 10th- It was Vince's Brother's birthday, so we met up at my in-laws house for pizza to celebrate. I couldn't help but laugh because we used Christmas themed plates and Easter themed napkins for his birthday dinner.
  • June 11th- Vince and I hosted a graduation party for my sister, Hannah, and her friend Daniel. I had spent the majority of the week preparing for this and felt somewhat overwhelmed at times, but it was well worth it and everyone seemed to have an enjoyable evening.
  • June 12th- Hannah, her friend Amelia, and my cousin's son Austin stayed Friday night, so we spent Saturday hanging out at home. My sister Rachel and her family came over to swim with us and we heated up some left-overs from the graduation party and had them for dinner..... I ended the evening by steam cleaning the living room carpet.
  • June 13th- We went to church and then headed to IKEA to pick up some new end tables and a couple of other small items. Somehow we also ended up buying Grafton a 4 foot stuffed alligator! I'm still not sure where we're going to keep him.
  • June 14th- Vince was exhausted and decided to sleep in, so I took the boys to our weekly Movie Monday where we saw Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and they both sat through the movie perfectly! My father-in-law came back in town that evening and so Vince picked him up from the airport and then we all had dinner at his house.
  • June 15th (today)- I started out by getting the boys' hair cut and this was the first time Deklan didn't scream the entire time! We then had a quick lunch at Wendy's and went Father's Day shopping at Kohl's.
I'd like to say our schedule is going to slow down now, but that is just not so... Tonight I have Bible Study, tomorrow a meeting, Thursday a birthday party, and Friday my Dad, Cousin Tim, and his Daughter Abby are coming in town and staying with us. I can't wait for them to get here, but I have a lot of grocery shopping, laundry, and cleaning to do before then.

However, I will try my hardest to keep my little blog better updated!
