Culprit: Grafton
Location: Bath & Body Works
Item: Chapstick
Price: $7.50
On Wednesday I took the boys to the mall to run a couple of errands and let Grafton play with the train set at Barnes & Noble. One of our errands was a quick stop into Bath & Body works to pick up some hand soap. Next to the soap is a display with all of their lip products. Grafton went over there and showed me a lip gloss I have at home that he recognized. I quickly grabbed the items I wanted, paid for them, and we headed to the train set. That was about the extent of our time in the store, or so I thought.
Grafton fell asleep on the way home, so I put him in his bed straight from the car and he slept for a couple of hours. As soon as he woke up he said, "Mom, I need you to open this chapstick." I said, "Where did that come from?" and he said, "My pocket!"
Needless to say, this was a good opportunity to teach him we do not take things without paying for them first.
Now I have the pleasurable job of returning the chapstick back to the store and explaining why we have it. Let's hope this is the first and last time he ever shoplifts!

I've had that happen to me! with shoes at babies r us! luckily we were in the parking lot at the time and we just walked back in and fessed up.
