Fall Festivies

Fall is definitely my favorite season and I love all of the fun family things we get to do to enjoy it! Two days before Halloween (which also happens to be Vince's birthday) I made chili and cornbread and we had some friends over to decorate pumpkins.

In the midst of the decorating the two two-year-old boys got tired and played with trains while watching Thomas & Friends.

The adults and Grafton stuck it out until the end!

Once the decorating was finished, we turned off the lights, ate toasted pumpkin seeds, and watched "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" (it's our yearly tradition).

On Halloween night we went to our church's Harvest Party. Unfortunately, we did not have very much fun! Both of the kids were exhausted and grouchy and I didn't even get a picture of Grafton in his adorable fireman costume. The kids played two games and we left before even getting dinner. I grilled them a hot dog at home and they went to bed early.

On Monday I decided to try a recipe I found in a Family Fun magazine. It's a healthier alternative to smores and I knew the boys would love it!

The only ingredients are sugar, cinnamon and apples.

We roasted the apples on the fire pit until the skins were black and cracking. Then we removed the skins with a fork and rolled the apples in the cinnamon and sugar.

Yummy!

My most recent Fall "activity" has been packing up the boys' summer clothes and washing and organizing their winter ones.

Even that makes me happy!
