Restore Tour

Last month we had the opportunity to have three young men, as well as their chaperone, who had been victims of the war in Northern Uganda, stay in our home for three days.

Their stories are heartbreaking and almost unbelievable. George, for example, (he's the one by Vince's left shoulder) was kidnapped along with his brother and father. His brother was murdered in front of him and his father is still missing. Even though he was forced into being a child soldier, he now has dreams of becoming a doctor.

Each child and teen on this tour (there are 45 in all) has an equally harrowing story, but one that ends with redemption an forgiveness.

These kids are traveling around the country and putting on a show in various churches that consists of singing, dancing, personal testimonies, and video.

They are raising awareness as well as funds for the ministry that is bringing medical support, education, and employment back into their country.

When we first picked them up it was a little awkward, but they warmed up to us quickly!

Grafton took up with the youngest boy, Leonard, and they spent several hours playing the Wii.

On the morning they left I cooked them a large breakfast, packed their lunch, and we sent them off with many hugs and goodbye's.

We are grateful to have had a small part in such an amazing ministry!
