Easter Celebrations

Our Easter festivities started on Thursday when my sister invited us to have an egg hunt with her boys and a couple of their friends at the park by her house.

Grafton was more interested in eating candy than collecting eggs!
Deklan did not join in the hunt, but he enjoyed watching the older kids.

On Easter morning Vince and I worked in the 2 & 3's room at church. When we got there I quickly took this picture. I'm glad I did because it's the only one I have of the boys in their matching outfits together.

Our church put on an Easter egg hunt directly after the service where they provided over 7,500 eggs and almost 200 kids participated!

Deklan enjoyed the after church hunt by sitting on his Grandma Brown's lap.

My sister-in-law and I wore the same pair of pants (this was not on purpose), so here we are showing them off!

After church we went to my grandparents house where they hosted lunch for 39 of us.  They're in their 70's and prepared all of the food and set everything up themselves.  I hope I have that much energy when I'm their age. :0)

Once lunch was over we had another egg hunt in the greenbelt next to their home. When we told the kids it was time to go, they were off and running!

A couple of weeks ago Grafton told me he wanted to "go fishing in a fishing lake", so after our egg hunt was over, he piled up in a golf cart and did just that.

This year for Easter I used a sand pail as Grafton's Easter Basket.  I figured he would get much more use out of it than a regular basket.  With the exception of the sand pail and DVD's, I purchased everything else at a dollar store, and I found some really great items.

Instead of putting together a basket for Deklan, I bought him a toy. I thought it would be more interesting to him, but I was wrong. He's been wanting to play with Grafton's basket items instead.

I should also mention that the boys were given easter baskets from their aunt and grandma, along with what we gave them.... They are very spoiled sometimes!

We were so busy on Easter that we did not give the boys their goodies from us until Monday.  I didn't think we were ever going to get done with the Easter festivities.

At this point I'm pretty tired of egg hunts, plastic eggs, candy, baskets, and bunnies.  I hope I'll be recovered by next Easter!
