He is Risen!

This year I have been especially looking forward to Easter.  Not because of the easter eggs, family gatherings, cute clothes, and candy (although, all of that is wonderful).  But because this year I really understand the joy of my salvation. "And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation." Psalm 35:9

With all of the uncertainty in the world right now, one thing is certain... Christ lived and walked the earth completely human and yet completely God, willingly shed his blood as a sacrifice for our sins, conquered death and rose again. Because I believe in Him and accept his free gift of salvation, I have been given eternal life....  In this I find great JOY!

Happiness is circumstantial, but joy is not affected by the high's and lows in life.  In the scheme of things, the trials I am facing now, no matter how big they seem, are fleeting.  On the other hand, there is no end to the relationship I have with Christ.  My life and eternity are secure in him.

I pray I never take Christ's sacrifice and resurrection for granted. Without him, my life would mean nothing.
